I'm going to keep this short and sweet. The general experience felt during the final year of a degree is not too far removed from that of deep depression. Don't be afraid to talk about it to me or any one of your friends. It's a very stressful time of your life and not to be confused or ignored. Not everyone self-medicates their stress like I do, don't be afraid to chat with me about yours :)
I worked 2 almost full time jobs last year simultaneously, the stress of that doesn't even compare nearly to this, so be warned or take solace in the fact you aren't alone in your suffering, do let loose a bit when you have the time!
What is Burnout? it's a state of emotional, mental, and physical exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed and unable to meet constant demands. As the stress continues, you begin to lose the interest or motivation that led you to take on a certain role in the first place.
Burnout reduces your productivity and saps your energy, leaving you feeling increasingly helpless, hopeless, cynical, and resentful. Eventually, you may feel like you have nothing more to give.
Most of us have days when we feel bored, overloaded, or unappreciated; when the dozen balls we keep in the air arent noticed, let alone rewarded; when dragging ourselves out of bed requires the determination of Hercules. If you feel like this most of the time, however, you may have burnout. ( from here -> burnout signs & symptoms )
There's nothing wrong with letting it get to you! It gets to most people. Tackle this fucker head on and get on with it!
